Toronto Marathon · 4 May 2025

Set up in January 2021, Joe's Buddy Line Charity aim to promote and protect the mental health of young people, from primary school to university.

Story

Something that's been very close to my heart is being vocal about mental health.

A few years back I watched an incredible documentary called 'Our Silent Emergency,' hosted by Roman Kemp. He lost his friend, Joe, to suicide at the age of 31.

Globally suicide is the third leading cause of death among 15-29 year olds and 720,000 people die due to suicide every year.

I know many loved ones, friends and family, who have struggled with mental health throughout their lives. I've also lost friends to suicide myself.

When I saw the opportunity to run my first marathon I decided I wanted to run in aid of a mental health focused charity. The charity I'm choosing is 'Joe's Buddy Line.'

'Joe's Buddy Line' is a charity that promotes mental health workshops in schools, encouraging children to talk about their emotions.

They work to educate students, teachers, schools and parents.

My target is to raise £30 for every mile of the marathon I'm running.

All donations are appreciated.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.
