We deliver medical services and aid to improve the health of refugees

Story

Thanks for supporting me to support Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP).

Last year I visited Gaza on a MAP humanitarian mission to teach and train local therapists. This is on-going work to help develop the treatment of chronic pain, which is one of many medical/health issues being addressed by the charity.

Gaza is surrounded by a guarded wall. When you approach the crossing, you are confronted by the structure, the barbed wire, and the lookout towers.

The wall prevents Palestinians who live in Gaza from freedom of movement that we take for granted, together with a restriction on supplies.

On one side of Gaza there is the sea. It looks like paradise. Yet the water is patrolled by gunboats restricting the fisherman, and is polluted with sewage as there is no system to deal with waste. There is also no refuse collection and hence the land is strewn with rubbish.

MAP are doing superb work delivering training and medical supplies to the local healthcare professionals. I am humbled and honoured to be playing a small part in this.

The run on 4th June will be the length of the wall; 65k. Route TBC. You are welcome to join me along the way!

Whatever you can spare will help MAP’s work to ease the suffering of the Palestinians whilst they continue to live under such conditions.
