Story
Thank you for stopping by! So over three days and nights in late May, I'm going to be undertaking an epic bike ride. It'll be the biggest ride I've ever done. It's 480km, over 8000m of climbing, taking in the North and South Downs plus many more lumpy bits of Sussex, Surrey and Kent on the way. It works out to be over 100 miles a day, for three days. I did say it was epic...

The ride is called the Great British Escapade, an organised adventure, although I'll be self sufficient carrying my own camping gear - oh and there is a time limit!
So yes, this is going to be a huge challenge, and plenty of people don't complete the ride. To keep me going (and motivated) I will be supporting a charity I care about -The Mankind Project. (https://mankindprojectuki.org/).
The Mankind Project (MKP) is a men's mental health charity that's become a significant part of my life. MKP carries out transformational training experiences as well as significant outreach activities to improve men's lives and reduce suicide.
Often, men suffer in silence because men are supposed to soldier on. Most do, and yet nearly 80% of suicide victims are male. In 2021, there were over 5,000 suicides registered in England. Suicide is the biggest cause of death in men under the age of 50 and around three quarters of deaths from suicides each year are men. https://www.gov.uk/government/news/men-urged-to-talk-about-mental-health-to-prevent-suicide
MKP runs on a shoestring budget, and your donation will help them continue their work, especially offering bursaries to men who do not have the means to attend the training weekends.
Your donation will keep me going when it's 3am, probably raining and I'm still pedalling - I'm going to need your support!
