Cotswold Way Ultra Challenge 2026 · 13 June 2026 to 14 June 2026 ·

1 in 3 people globally do not have a waste management service and have no option but to burn or dump their waste, much of it ending up in the oceans. We share waste management and recycling skills that help people to help themselves from poverty, improve public health, and protect the environment

Story

A double run challenge this year! First up a solo effort at the London Marathon, followed a few weeks later by the Cotswold Way Ultra Challenge which I’m running with colleagues from Ecosurety, helping to raise £10,000 for WasteAid. Your help and support will make a big difference to me (some extra motivation to keep going!) but more importantly to the millions of people impacted by a lack of waste management which causes pollution, poor health and disease. Thank you for your support!

Why WasteAid?

WasteAid’s vision is simple but powerful: A world where waste causes no harm, and where people are empowered to recover its value.

Since 2021, WasteAid has delivered 25 programme interventions across 10 countries, positively impacting nearly 1.4 million people.

Their work helps to:

• Build inclusive, resilient circular economies

• Create and support green jobs

• Reduce pollution and improve public health

• Protect the environment for future generations

The Global Waste Crisis and Why It Matters

The urgency is real:

• 1 in 3 people globally lack access to basic waste services

• 9 million people die each year from diseases linked to waste mismanagement

• Poor waste management drives climate change, poverty, and plastic pollution

• Communities without waste services often have no choice but to burn or dump waste, harming people and ecosystems

WasteAid tackles these challenges by working directly with communities, providing training, infrastructure, and tools to turn waste into opportunity and sustainable income.

How Your Donation Helps

Your contribution has the power to create lasting change. Here’s what your generosity could make possible:

• £500 → Build two recycling collection points in rural South Africa

• £1,500 → Fund a composting workshop for 10 Gambian women, supporting local livelihoods

• £5,000 → Support an e waste Repair & Re use programme in Johannesburg, giving young people valuable technical skills

• £10,000 → Deliver business training for 30 marginalised young women in Uganda, strengthening communities

No amount is too small, every donation plays a part in transforming waste into opportunity.
