Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This September I'm going on a one-week hike with other folks from McKinsey to raise money for mental health charities. We're trekking the Accursed Mountains—yup, that's right—through Kosovo, Albania, and Montenegro.
I hope you'll consider donating to The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry department of Bellevue. This is a place that worked miracles for the Tetzeli family. Their doctors and aides do amazing work with truly scarce resources. I remember one clinician bemoaning the lack of magic markers, and of course there are many more serious needs. These doctors serve kids from all walks of New York City life. They have CPEPs for mental health emergencies, in-patient wings for stays of weeks or months, and partial programs to help children make successful transitions back to their everyday lives.
I can't express how grateful we are to Bellevue. The place really transformed our lives. Our family wouldn't be whole or happy without Bellevue, without those caring, smart, and creative clinicians who gave us the help we needed at the moment we needed it most. If you want to give to directly to an organization that is saving children every day, Children of Bellevue is a great choice. Your donation is political—instead of waiting for your share of the $1.8 billion slush fund, you'll be fighting back against malicious cuts in federal funding. More importantly, it's personal—you will be making a meaningful difference in the lives of kids with serious mental health challenges.
Thanks so much for considering this. Love, Rick
