Ricki's fundraiser for Multiple Sclerosis Trust (MS Trust)

Trek Kilimanjaro with Discover Adventure 2024 · 7 June 2024 to 16 June 2024 ·
In August 2024 I will be trekking up Mount Kilimanjaro for the MS Trust. MS has affected my family directly, my dad Dave was diagnosed in 1997 and devastatingly died on 4th September 2018 at the age of 62. This was such a huge loss to me and my family that I’ve felt ever since the need to do something to raise awareness and much needed funds.
MS has also touched another member of the family from my dad’s side, Tanya who was also taken far too soon on the 9th September 2016 at the age of 31.
MS is a cruel disease, my dad went from an active person to being completely dependent on carers to do everything for him as he eventually ended up in a wheelchair not being able to walk, feed himself or be able to speak property. However, through all this my dad kept his amazing sense of humour and was able to laugh a lot with his family and grandchildren.
The MS Trust works tirelessly to support people with MS - answering enquiries, funding healthcare professionals across the UK, producing high-quality literature online and in print, and fostering a vibrant MS community.
130 people are diagnosed with multiple sclerosis every week in the UK. That’s one person every two hours. An MS diagnosis can be devastating, for both people with MS and their loved ones. You may feel lost, alone and uncertain about the future. The MS Trust are here to help you make sense of MS on every step of your journey.
They fight to make sure everyone affected by MS can access good quality, specialist care and live the best life they possibly can. They support and train MS health professionals and fund MS specialist nurses and Advanced MS Champions across the UK.
Thank you for your kind donation, its really is very much appreciated by us all.
