I am running the Lincoln City 10k to raise money for Headway Lincolnshire, a charity that provides vital support to brain injury survivors and their families, helping to improve services and quality of life after injury.

When Liga suffered a subarachnoid haemorrhage in 2020, Headway was there for us at some of the darkest and most uncertain moments. Their advice, understanding, and support were essential in helping us both navigate life after brain injury, and we will always be grateful for that.

I used to run fairly regularly, but I haven’t done so for over eight years — so this will be a real challenge for my ageing and decidedly out-of-shape body. Still, it feels like a small thing to do in support of an organisation that has given us so much.
