Story
I'm back on my bike, riding to raise money for Ukraine once more.
I'll be taking on 230km of the Tour De Yorkshire Legacy ride. Following the full route the pros rode including the iconic Yorkshire climbs of Cote de Buttertubs Pass and Cote de Grinton Moor. The longest ride I have ever taken on.
The war in Ukraine is still on going, and your support is still needed.
I want to raise £230 (£1 every km) for the Leeds Ukrainian Community Association (charity number 1199884). The money will go directly to help Ukraine.
As you have all given so generously so quickly, I've upped the ask to £750!! Thank you so much everybody :D
Leeds Ukrainian Community Association's (LUCA) mission is, above all, to provide assistance in the collection, organisation and further transfer of humanitarian aid from the city of Leeds to Ukraine and neighbouring countries that help victims of the war in Ukraine.
LUCA supports Ukrainian soldiers who are training at military bases in Yorkshire by organising concerts with Ukrainian music, refreshments, etc. to boost morale and show our appreciation.
There are regular requests from military units for vehicles (ambulances, minibuses, SUVs), medicines, turnstiles, individual first-aid kits, car cases, sleeping bags, and winter clothing. These supplies are essential to allow the Ukrainian army to save even more lives.
Aid is transferred by us using established and trusted contacts and supply routes. As a small charity LUCA can respond swiftly and we document at all stages to show the safe transfer of aid with photo and video recording.
Please donate and help a great cause, while giving me motivation to cross the finish line!
