The Ridge & Partners Leeds office are entering a team into the Abbey Dash 10k run in support of Sarah’s Pink Events.

Sarah’s Pink Events are an amazing charity that do some great work in Leeds and the surrounding areas supporting those diagnosed with breast cancer, through patient wellbeing and support, raising money to provide equipment for breast cancer clinics, and ultimately being a helping hand and safe shoulder to lean on through those difficult times.

This is a cause close to the hearts of so many, especially so in the Ridge & Partners Leeds office.

Lisa Hazelwood, lovingly referred to as our ‘office mum’ was diagnosed in 2019 with HER2 negative triple negative stage 3 breast cancer. An aggressive form of breast cancer.

After her diagnosis in August of 2019 Lisa went through the tough process of treatment. Over the period of 18 months Lisa went through 3 types of chemotherapy, left mastectomy with auxiliary clear removing two tumours (one 6cm and one 4cm with mass behind the tumours) and 15 rounds of radiotherapy.

After a long treatment period including physio, two blood transfusions, sepsis, and covid, Lisa ‘rang the bell’. And in January of this year was given the all clear after 5 years of remission.

Lisa’s story of recovery is nothing short of inspirational. The team at Sarah’s pink events not only provided equipment to help in Lisa’s treatment, but were there to give advice and comfort at a time of need.

56,000 Women are diagnosed with breast cancer each year, our team of 16 runners (Legends) are aiming to complete the run in an average time of 56 minutes.
