Right at Home Welwyn's fundraiser for Dementia Adventure

Kirsty Sheena is raising money for Dementia Adventure
Dementia Adventure thinks differently about dementia. We look at what people can do, not what they can’t. We offer supported holidays and dementia training so people with dementia can get outside, experience the wellbeing benefits of nature and enjoy more active and fulfilled lives.

Story

At Right at Home, we're all about helping people live life to the full, so we’re thrilled to be partnering with Dementia Adventure, a charity that shares our passion for making life better for those living with dementia.

We believe that everyone should be able to enjoy the outdoors, stay connected to the things they love, and feel part of their community. That’s exactly what Dementia Adventure helps people do – whether it’s a walk in nature, a trip to the seaside, or simply spending time in green spaces with family and friends.

This summer, we’re bringing our partnership to life through the Big Green Picnic – a series of fun, inclusive and sensory-friendly events taking place across our local offices. These picnics are a lovely way to bring people together, spark joyful memories, and create new ones too.

We’re also proud to support Green Letter Days – unforgettable experiences designed for people living with dementia, like watching cricket at Lord’s or revisiting a favourite golf course. We’re even dreaming up new adventures – there’s talk of high ropes days for the thrill-seekers among us!

At the heart of it all is a simple idea: life is for living. Dementia Adventure also runs supported holidays across the UK, tailored to different needs and abilities. These breaks are often life-changing, not just for those living with dementia, but for their family carers too.

That’s why we’re fundraising – to help more people access these holidays, especially those who wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford them.

If you’re able to donate, no matter how small, it would mean the world to us.
