Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge - Dementia Adventure

Paresh Mistry is raising money for Dementia Adventure

Yorkshire Three Peaks · 25 May 2025

Dementia Adventure thinks differently about dementia. We look at what people can do, not what they can’t. We offer supported holidays and dementia training so people with dementia can get outside, experience the wellbeing benefits of nature and enjoy more active and fulfilled lives.

Story

900,000 people in the UK live with dementia: a diagnosis that often leads to isolation indoors. Dementia Adventure thinks differently about dementia. Our positive focus is on the individual, not the condition. Connection with nature has positive health benefits and can even slow down the progression of dementia symptoms. Through our holidays, training and research, we remove barriers, improve confidence, and increase opportunities for people to stay active, keep connected to family and friends, and retain a sense of adventure in their lives.

Members of our team (Paresh, Samuel, Hayley & Elitsa) at Right at Home Ilkley, Keighley & Skipton are planning on taking on the challenge of completing the Yorkshire Three Peaks — a demanding 24-mile route that includes the summits of Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside, and Ingleborough. This iconic trek involves over 1,500 metres of ascent and is widely regarded as a true test of endurance and determination. We’re tackling all three peaks in under 12 hours, pushing ourselves physically and mentally, while enjoying the stunning landscapes of the Yorkshire Dales.

The Trek is being organised by Charity Through Adventure https://www.charitythroughadventure.co.uk/
