Story
In March i will be running the Eastbourne Downs half marathon to raise money for the amazing work the Stroke Association do!
When stroke strikes, part of your brain shuts down. And so does a part of you. Life changes instantly. 4 Years ago my fit and healthy Oma suffered two sudden strokes whilst in hospital after recieving major heart surgery. This changed not only her life, but our entire families lives. She had to start from the beginning again, re-learning how to speak, spell and write as well as being able to walk and move freely. Without the continued hard work and support of our family she would not be where she is today. I am super proud to say she is now back to her old self, line dancing every week and playing bridge with all of her friends! She has recently taken up the role as a Stroke Association Volunteer to act as a support network for those in their recovery process. The road to recovery after a stroke is a long one, but the Stroke Association offer so much useful guidance and support to those who suffer but also those around them who may also be affected.
All the money raised on my run will donated straight to the Stroke Association so they can continue to support individuals and families who need it just like mine, so any support is appreciated.
Thank you so much
