MSPCA-Angell (Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) is the second-oldest humane society in the US (founded in 1868). They run several veterinary facilities and shelters throughout Massachusetts and their mission is to care for and protect animals of all kinds. They do not receive funding from state or federal agencies and rely on support of donors to operate. MSPCA-Angell has a four star charity rating (the highest), and 91 cents of every dollar go directly to veterinary care of/adoption programs for animals.

Angell has cared for our beloved dog, Ringo, in his later years, and it is no exaggeration to say they have saved his life two years in a row (last year with surgery and this year with an almost week-long hospital stay where we thought we might lose him). Perhaps most importantly, they have made it possible for Ringo to have a great quality of life (and more Nantucket beach days!) at 15+ years old. We are so grateful for our “bonus time” with him, and we have Angell to thank for it. We have been absolutely blown away their expertise, kindness, and compassion, and we want to help other animals receive the same care as much as we can. Ringo is everything to us, and we know other animal lovers feel the same way about their pets.
