Our mission is to save the lives of men in suicidal crisis. Since opening in 2018, we’ve helped over 4,300 suicidal men access free, life-saving therapy at our centres in Liverpool, London and Newcastle. 75% of deaths by suicide are men, but suicides are preventable. Donate today to help save lives.

Story

At James' Place, our mission is to stop men dying by suicide. Yet, in the UK suicide is still the single leading cause of death of men under 50. We believe that no man should face a suicidal crisis alone. James' Place provides free, professional therapy for men in suicidal crisis to help them find hope for the future.

We sadly lost the life and soul of our family/every party, my uncle David, to suicide in 2022. As with so many cases of suicide, he had the biggest heart and was the first to support/give to others/keep the craic 90. Any type of grief is devastating, but grieving a suicide can bring so many unique challenges and questions and we as a family will never fully heal from the hole he has left, we can only hope he has found the peace he so desperately deserved and he will forever be my motivation to never stop talking about men’s mental health! There is so much stigma and shame and we have a long way to go! My heart goes out to anyone who has lost someone in this way, and to anyone who is currently feeling this way.

In honour of David and so many others who have lost their lives to suicide, the wonderful James and Glen are using their 30th birthday party as a platform to raise money for this incredible cause. We are so grateful to our amazing friends who have not only agreed to DJ for free, but have also donated to the charity. Music can bring people from so many walks of life together and provide a safe space for men (and anyone) who is struggling to feel connected to others and we hope that 12 hours of dancing with friends in the sunshine will represent perfectly what we are trying to achieve. The ticket fee of £1.25 is included in the ticket price. RA will donate 50% of this to James’ Place. We will be donating all other proceeds from tickets for the private event as a lump sum.

Although the party is private, if you can give even a tiny amount to this charity it will be greatly appreciated and go a long way. Small steps make all the difference and together we can try and provide options for men who feel they have no hope.
