Story
All money donated is directly donated to NHS Charity, then being used to purchase a Riser Recliner chair.
We are raising money for a riser recliner chair for Medicine of the Elderly ward 101 in the Royal Infirmary Hospital in Edinburgh. My colleagues and I will undertake the 3 peaks challenge on September 28th in order to rise money for this cause. Bart, Laura, Katie and Bridget will be brave enough to undertake this challenge! Bart, Laura and Katie all work within the NHS Lothian.
The challenge involves climbing the highest peaks of Great Britain in Scotland, Wales and England. We will climb Ben Nevis (4,409ft), Snowdon (3,560ft) and Scafell Pike (3,209ft) all within 24 hours!
The riser recliner chair will provide a much needed support needed for patients that are unable to sit in ordinary high back chairs, due to numerous reasons like being unable to maintain independent sitting balance. Patients will benefit from being in the riser recliner chair and not spending all of the time in bed. This will facilitate shorter time spent in the hospital, enhanced patient care, increased engagement in therapies and patient comfort. The riser recliner chair will support patients with an enhanced assessment to recreate the home environment.
Cash donations are also accepted, please direct your enquires to NHS Charity directly or bartosz.lelental2@nhslothan.scot.nhs.uk
