Story
Every year I take on a physical and mental challenge and this is the biggest one yet. The Great Silk Run; 300km across Tajikistan. Why? I couldn't really tell you, but since I am doing it, this is a good chance to raise some money for a cause I care about.
Education is the foundation for personal dignity, social mobility and opportunity. Everyone deserves access to an Education. Muktangan trains up local women in disadvantaged communities, giving them a vocation, and helps them educate young children from those disadvantaged local communities.
The results speak for themselves. 3,800 children directly benefitted through active learning year on year. 99% average school pass percentage of 9 years in SSC examinations. 98% alumni pursuing higher education (2000+ alumni).
So this May, I'll be taking on the equivalent of 7 marathons in 7 days, from the border of Afghanistan to the border of China, through the Bartang Valley in Tajikistan, camping each night (probably the hardest part!), and getting up to a max of 4,500m in elevation!
Whilst I enjoy running, this is a bit much, so supporting a good cause will give me that extra motivation (alongside David Goggins on repeat) to get through it.
