A trip down memory lane. · 14 June 2024

Dementia UK is the specialist dementia nurse charity. Our nurses, called Admiral Nurses – who we continually support and develop – provide life-changing care for families affected by all forms of dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

On June 14th 2024, we plan to take part in a four mile walk around Malton and Norton.

Our aim is to walk from Rivermead, up to a local pub for lunch. Whilst walking back we plan to take the residents to destinations of reminiscence. Our goal is to visit old work places, places they used to go with friends and other places that hold special meaning for our residents. We aim to allow them to relive their youth, whilst making new memories. Hence we have called the fundraiser 'A trip down memory lane'.

We chose to raise money for Dementia UK. Memory lane at Rivermead is a specialized Dementia Care Unit, supporting individuals living with all types of Dementia to fulfil and enrich their lives. Alongside that, we also support the families of the residents, offering support and advice whilst providing high levels of care to their relatives.

Unit Manager Vixx Taylor, Care Practitioners Layla Rainbow and Karlen McBlane and Care Assistant Maughan Vaulter will take part in the walk, accompanied by four of their wonderful residents from Memory Lane.

Any donations and support will be very gratefully received to support this wonderful charity.
