Source2Sea – Running the River Thames for Homeless Veterans
Between 9–12 April 2026, I will be taking on Source2Sea — a non-stop 232-mile run covering the entire length of the River Thames, from its source all the way to the sea. It will be an extreme physical and mental challenge, but one driven by a cause I care deeply about.
I am passionate about supporting our Veteran community. Since moving to the Tower of London as a Yeoman Warder, I have seen first-hand the reality of homelessness in London — and the uncomfortable truth that many of those sleeping rough are veterans who once served their country.
That is why I am proud to be raising funds for Only A Pavement Away, a charity that helps people facing homelessness rebuild their lives through employment in the hospitality industry. The charity acts as a vital bridge between forward-thinking hospitality employers and trusted referral partners, creating real job opportunities and long-term support for those ready to take the next step. For many, this support is the difference between surviving and truly rebuilding a life.
This event is kindly sponsored by Surrey Steels, a local company that shares a strong commitment to veterans’ welfare and community support. I’m incredibly grateful for their backing.
This run will push me far beyond my comfort zone — mentally, physically, and emotionally — but it pales in comparison to the daily challenges faced by those the charity supports. Many of you have generously supported my previous challenges, and I am asking once again for your help.
If you are able to donate, share, or simply follow the journey, your support really does make a difference. Together, we can help our homeless veterans access meaningful employment, regain independence, and build the life they truly deserve.
Thank you for standing with me — and with them.
