The London 10k has been a central challenge event of the SpecialEffect calendar for over 15 years. During that time, the number of people has grown from just a handful in 2009 to over 150 in our 2024 event!

Story

This year we’ll be running the London 10K to raise money for one of our favourite charities, the wonderful SpecialEffect.

Not only will Rory, Krupa, and Gav be running, we’ll be join by a bunch of RKG friends, from our lovely editor (magic) Rich. our friend Gary (who's made us look nice in lots of photos over the years), and Rory’s much faster brother, Colin.

We’ve set an ambitious target this year of £10k for 10km, because why not aim high for such a wonderful cause?

And as a little extra incentive, if we reach that target – Rory, Krupa, and Gav will run the entire race dressed as Dark Souls characters.

Yes, it will be very hot in London on that date if you were wondering.

If you don’t know much about them, SpecialEffect are a fantastic organisation that adapt consoles and controllers to allow people with physical disabilities to enjoy video games. You can read more about their incredible work here.
