Story
We’re Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), and we’re a suicide prevention charity. We’ve got loads of tools and resources to help people find the support they need, including a life-saving helpline for people who can’t see a way forward, have lost someone to suicide, or are worried about their friends or loved ones.
£12.20 is enough to fund one potentially life-saving call.
In 2027, I will be running the Manchester Marathon in memory of my cousin, Alistair Wilson, who sadly lost his battle.
Alistair was deeply loved by his family, friends, and everyone who visited his veterinary practice. His loss has left a space that can never truly be filled. Through this marathon, I want to honour his memory, celebrate the person he was, and help raise awareness around mental health.
Taking on this challenge will be both physically and emotionally demanding, but every mile I run will be for Alistair and for everyone who may be silently struggling. If sharing his story encourages even one person to reach out for help or helps support charities working to help people struggling, then it will mean so much.
Any donation, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciated and will go towards supporting vital mental health services.
Thank you for your kindness, support, and for helping keep Alistair’s memory alive.
