Story
The event takes place every two years, and for the first time this is to be held in Wales at the Wales National Pool in Swansea. https://www.rlsscommonwealth.org/lifesaving-sport/commonwealth-lifesaving-championships/
The competition brings together the best pool lifeguards from countries across the Commonwealth, usually including Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Hong Kong, Singapore, Canada as well as England, Wales and Scotland. The events comprise both speed events and simulated rescue events. All competitors are qualified pool or beach lifeguards.
Team Wales is planning on taking both a National and Development team to the event, this should be 23 people including team managers. Team members are generally between the ages of 16 and 30. The event takes place from July 11th-13th . With accommodation, entry fees, uniform and training, costs are likely to be around £800 per person. Whilst team members will be self-financed, we are actively seeking team financial support and sponsorship to reduce this cost as much as possible.
