RMC Business Fives for One Punch Hull & East Yorkshire CIO

Business Fives Football Tournament · 4 February 2025
Thanks for taking the time to visit our Just Giving page. We, RMC are taking part (and defending our Europa League title) in the Business Fives football tournament in February, our chosen charity this year is One Punch Hull & East Yorkshire.
One Punch Hull & East Yorkshire was set up as a charity in August 2023 following the death of Scott Akester in November 2022 who died from One Punch. He left behind his mum and dad, Debbie & Steve, his partner Naomi and daughter Ella who was 4 years old at the time of his death.
He was on a night out with friends, waiting for a taxi home, when a friend of 17 years punched him in the mouth when he wasn’t expecting it, he fell back, hit his head on the ground and lost his life. That split-second decision changed lives forever.
The charity was set up to raise awareness of the risks of One Punch and to make everyone realise how dangerous they can be, and ultimately how that needless punch changes lives forever.
The charitys objectives are ‘To advance the education of people of Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire for the public benefit on the consequences of “one punch assaults and deaths” through the provision of campaigns and workshops to educational facilities, such as schools, colleges and other educational establishments to educate on the reduction of risk, the prevention of violence and to raise awareness of the issue to wider society including support to victims and families’
