Story
This November, I will be trekking nearly 50km across the Sahara Desert to raise vital funds for Coram. 🐪☀️
Earlier this year, I started volunteering with Coram Voice and training to become an Independent Visitor. This role matches volunteers with a child or young person in care, committing to being a consistent, trusted adult in their life - something that means a great deal to me.
Through this volunteering, I have learned so much about the wider Coram group. As the UK's first and longest-serving children's charity, they support hundreds of thousands of children, young people, and families every year.
Your donations will directly support Coram’s incredible frontline work, including:
🏠 Adoption & Care Support: Creating safe, loving homes and supporting care leavers.
⚖️ Advocacy & Legal Advice: Giving vulnerable children a voice in decisions that affect them.
📚 Education & Therapy: Running life-changing schools and therapeutic music/art programmes.
📢 Systemic Change: Working with government and schools to improve opportunities for future generations.
Learning more about the charity and the passionate people behind it made me want to do something more to support a cause that has come to mean so much to me.
So, I am stepping far out of my comfort zone into the desert heat! I will be sharing updates from the trek live on my LinkedIn throughout the challenge, and I hope to bring you all along with me.
Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my page. Any support, no matter the size, is hugely appreciated and will help Coram continue supporting children and young people across the UK.
