Story

In April I will be running the London marathon in memory of my older brother Graham who passed away in January 2021 for a great cause & charity MIND to help raise awareness for mental health & mental illness. Those of you who know me know the battles my brother faced before his passing, the impact it had on not only myself but our family & how important awareness for mental health & mental illness is for me. My brother suffered with his mental health for a number of years before being diagnosed with Bipolar disorder in 2019 then passing away in 2021. Running was something he spoke to me about taking up not long before he passed but sadly he didn’t get to start what was to be his new hobbie. This gives me the chance to run for him. As someone who has also had two lots of therapy myself (initially for ptsd & then again after my brothers death to help deal with the grief that followed) I know all too well how important it is for people to talk and seek help. Any donations will be much appreciated no matter much it is, if this helps just one more person find help it will be worth it. No one is exempt from bad mental health & no one should be ashamed to seek help & talk about it.
