Taking on 625,000 steps in 25 days for NRAS! 🚶♂️
This October, NRAS (the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society) celebrates its 25th anniversary — 25 years supporting the 450,000 people living with rheumatoid arthritis and the 10,000 children and young people living with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) across the UK. Both are lifelong autoimmune conditions with no cure, and NRAS remains the only patient-led organisation in the UK dedicated to supporting people with RA and JIA through advice, support groups, and campaigning for better care.
To mark the anniversary, we at Personal Homecare Pharmacy (PHP) are taking on NRAS's Take on 25 Challenge, each choosing an activity built around the number 25. My challenge: walking 25,000 steps a day for 25 days — 625,000 steps in total. I'm already a keen walker, but this is pushing me well beyond my usual distance, and I'm looking forward to the challenge. I'll be posting updates on this page as I go, so you can track how far I've walked throughout the 25 days - I plan to start the challenge on 4th September, finishing it on the 29th.
I work with a clinical homecare provider supplying medication to patients living with RA, so I see first-hand the day-to-day challenges they face — it's a cause I wanted to put some real effort behind. And every donation goes further: PHP will match whatever we raise.
Please donate what you can, if you can't donate then a share goes a long way too.
Thank you for your support 🙏
