Hi everyone On Saturday 10th May I will be attempting The LAP - a 75km/47mile ultramarathon around Lake Windermere.  The race takes place not only along the shore of the lake itself, but also a number of the surrounding hills - approx 2800m or 9000ft of climbing.  It's promising to be a challenging day out... 

I'm doing this to raise funds for the fantastic WEST Youth Zone in White City, which has just celebrated its first anniversary.  WEST (Where Everyone Sticks Together - named by the young people of Hammersmith and Fulham) is part of the OnSide Network and gives young people somewhere to go, something to do and someone to talk to, open throughout the year whenever schools are closed.   

WEST Youth Zone is a brand new, purpose-built building fizzing with energy, and crammed with incredible facilities. It is staffed by skilled and dedicated youth workers who truly believe in young people – helping them see what they could achieve, and giving them the skills, confidence and ambition to go for it.  It offers 20 activities each night ranging from football, climbing and media to skating, DJ-ing, drama and employability training. 

Harriet and I are incredibly proud to be Founder Patrons of WEST where I'm also a Trustee.  We are delighted that a number of our friends have also become Founder Patrons or provided one-off funding and now's the chance for more people to get involved.   Please sponsor me - you will make a huge and lasting difference to hundreds of young people who need our help in becoming what they could be.
