SHDCS Charity Sky Dive · 13 September 2025 · Start fundraising for this event

SHDCS organise adventures for Deaf children and their families travelling on similar journeys. We help create life-long friendship, whilst sharing experiences and knowledge. We are creating an environment for Deaf children to grow to be confident, strong and proud to be part of the Deaf community.

Story

I'm jumping out of a plane for South Hampshire Deaf Children's Society and I need your support!

This September, I’m taking on a challenge and skydiving from 10,000 feet (or 15,000 feet if I hit my stretch target!) to raise money for South Hampshire Deaf Children’s Society (SHDCS).

I’m a committee member of this incredible volunteer-run charity, and more importantly, I’m also a proud dad to my son Isaac, who is moderately to severely Deaf and uses hearing aids.

SHDCS is so important for us. It gives Isaac the opportunity to meet other Deaf children, helping him build his deaf identity and grow up knowing he’s not alone. For our family, it’s given us community, connection, and support through social events for Deaf children and their families throughout the year, sign language lessons, grants for essential equipment or support and a sense of belonging.

The charity is powered by volunteers and every penny helps.

Now for the big bit… I dont like the feeling of falling, so a skydive is definitely outside my comfort zone...but there is no going back now!

🪂 My goal is to raise £400 to jump from 10,000 feet

🪂 If we hit £500, I’ll take the leap from 15,000 feet instead!

If you’re able to donate, however big or small, it would mean so much to me and even more to the families supported by SHDCS.

Thank you for your support!
