Our son, Dexter, was born 8 weeks premature on 27th January and needed to spend 5 weeks in Macclesfield Special Care Baby Unit. Without the team in the unit we just don't know how we would have done it! They looked after the three of us throughout every tube feed, cannula and nappy change!
Every staff member that supported us did so with an unparalleled level of kindness and authenticity that made us feel like a part of the furniture in the unit. They had access to additional equipment and resources that are only available due to on-going fundraising such as parent overnight stays and top-of-the range breast pumps! They even helped fuel my training by providing a regular meal whilst caring for Dexter and Nicola.
The Lakeland 100 is a 105-mile circular race through the Lake District that is widely considered the UK’s toughest long-distance trail race. 6300m of elevation, 105 miles, 40 hour limit. HELP!
