In 2013, Dewi’s life took an unexpected turn when he was diagnosed with a serious medical condition. During this time, he was under the care of three outstanding specialists at Morriston Hospital — Mark Davies, Pradeep Bose and Peter Drew — whose skill, dedication and compassion played a pivotal role in his journey.

Through their expertise, the NHS system, and the unwavering love and support of his family and friends, Dewi was given a remarkable gift: an additional twelve years to cherish life, his family, and his growing grandchildren. These years were filled with love, laughter and treasured memories.

Sadly, following a short illness, Dewi passed away peacefully on 7th January 2026.
