Alice, Archie, Ollie and Angus are attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the "fastest half marathon run by a mother and three children" to mark the 10th anniversary since the death of husband and father Rob. We will be making our attempt at the Worcester Half Marathon on 13th September 2026, with several of Rob's siblings and friends taking part alongside.

Rob was an avid and talented runner, running nine(ish) marathons in his life in four countries across three continents. As it was for Rob, running for us is a family endeavour. In undertaking this World Record attempt, we remember the many races he completed with his own father, David, raising thousands of pounds for charity in the process.

In order to complete this challenge all 4 of us will need to be on that start line so training is as much about injury prevention as it is pushing speed!

We chose Medical Aid for Palestinians because the genocide and apartheid in Palestine is an issue we are deeply invested in. Palestinians face serious barriers to accessing medicine as a result of decades of apartheid and military repression. MAP teams are on the ground, working everyday to support the fragile health system in Gaza, the West Bank and Lebanon. Rob's altruism and sense of justice runs deep in us 3 boys and whilst we can't speak for Rob we think he would be proud of us for championing this cause.
