Story
Attempting a half marathon unprepared? It's basically just another day at work.
Just like when you’re having to fabricate an entire prop overnight because the design changed, finding the energy to meet another impossible deadline when you're already running on fumes is like hitting that wall at mile 10 — this half marathon is going to test me in ways that feel oddly like most days in the workshop.
Training? What training? Between the relentless deadlines at work, and a young baby at home who has his own demands and needs, ‘free time’ is not a phrase that exists in my world; I'm going into this run counting on hope, adrenaline, and whatever's left in the tank.
The difference is, this time every painful step goes toward The Film and TV Charity, supporting vital mental health services for those who need it most.
Workers in our industry know the toll that relentless deadlines, high pressure, and emotional exhaustion can take—not just on ourselves, but on our partners and families who hold our lives together when we are not there, and pick up the pieces when we finally get home. Mental health support shouldn't be a luxury—it should be accessible to everyone.
If you can spare a few pounds to sponsor my very underprepared legs, you'll be helping fund counselling, crisis support, and resources that genuinely save lives
