Story
Jane and Robbie Lockyer will be running the London Marathon on Sunday 26th April! We’ll be running in aide of The Institute of Cancer Research, which is both a charity and research institute, and where Robbie works as a Fundraising Communications Officer.
15 years ago, Jane was diagnosed with the skin cancer malignant melanoma and treated with two rounds of surgery before receiving the all-clear. Robbie is currently high-risk for developing the disease and undergoes precautionary mole mapping every six months. While currently well, they are both keen to emphasise the importance of checking your moles and informing your GP sooner rather than later of any changes in size, shape or colour.
Donations may appear on one of our pages, but we’re fundraising as a team and all sponsorship contributes to our shared total!

The Institute of Cancer Research, London, is one of the world's most influential cancer research institutes, with an outstanding record of achievement dating back more than 100 years. Every day they are finding innovative ways of detecting cancers, discovering new treatment options and producing life-changing research.
Every donation is a part of what keeps cancer research moving forward every day. They help fund the routine yet essential tasks that build toward major discoveries.
£20 could pay for some PCR primers – short DNA sequences used to identify cancer-related genes.
£50 could buy one box of pipette tips, which are used daily during experiments.
£100 could power a high-resolution microscope for an hour, enabling scientists to closely examine cancer cells and track how they respond to treatments.
Help us reach the finishing line. Together we can finish cancer.
