Story
I dont know much about down’s syndrome and I dont know much about running, but i do know about the absolute pleasure getting to know Finlay has been. Its always a bit daunting meeting your partner’s family but from day one Finlay has shown me nothing but love, having possibly the biggest heart of anyone I have ever met and has made me feel right at home from the start. A joy to be around wether he is telling excellent jokes, sharing stories or simply watching one of the many films he enjoys i am always looking to be in the room Finlay's in when im around at the McConnells. (the rest of her family is alright too i guess 😉)
And that is why i’m joining RunAcrossUK2026 to hopefully raise awareness and vital funds for Down’s Syndrome Scotland - a brilliant charity supporting families and individuals with Down’s syndrome to live their best lives.
We’re running the 32 miles from Inverness to Aviemore on World Down’s Syndrome Day (21 March) so that others can experience the joy of having a Finlay in their life too!
Thank you
