Support Robbie Bowie Cameron – Representing DeaflympicsGB Golf at the 2025 Summer Deaflympics ⛳️ 🇬🇧

My name is Robbie Bowie Cameron, and I’m a 38-year-old amateur golfer from Glasgow, Scotland. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 After years of dedication to the sport, I’ve just been selected to represent Great Britain at the 2025 Deaflympics in Tokyo — a life-changing opportunity that I never imagined would come my way. 🥇 🥈 🥉

This will be my first time competing internationally, and my first time ever playing in a Deaf golf event was at the start of May — where, against the odds, I qualified for DeaflympicsGB! Under Deaflympic rules, all players compete without hearing aids or cochlear implants, making the game completely silent. It’s a unique challenge that levels the playing field for deaf athletes.

I discovered the opportunity through Scottish Golf 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 and entered the qualifier with no expectations — just a passion for golf and a willingness to push myself. The experience has opened up a whole new world, and now I’m proud (and still a bit stunned!) to be heading to Tokyo in November.

Why I Need Your Help to Raise £4,000

Travelling to Japan to represent DeaflympicsGB at the Deaflympics is self-funded — and that includes flights, accommodation, kit, and entry fees. I’m aiming to raise £4,000 to help cover the cost of:

Golf has been a lifelong passion. I’ve been a member of different courses over the years including Eastwood Golf Club, Hilton Park Golf Club, Brora Golf Club and recently I joined Bearsden Golf Club where I continue to play as an amateur. Being part of the Deaflympics is about more than golf — it’s about representation, inclusion, and showing what deaf athletes can achieve on the world stage.
