Story
In November 2025, my mum was involved in a car accident. The emergency services were on the scene incredibly quickly, alongside the air ambulance crew. Everyone involved did absolutely everything they could before airlifting my mum to the RVI Hospital. Despite their tireless efforts and five days of intensive care, our hero sadly passed away.
My mum loved running and completed many events over the years, including running the Great North Run 10 times. This year would have been her 11th, at the grand age of 73. Taking on the Great North Run feels like the right way to honour her memory and celebrate the incredible life she lived. I’ll be running with her very much in my thoughts every step of the way.
I’m raising money for the Air Ambulance to support the vital, life-saving work they do every day for families like mine. Any donation, big or small, would mean so much and will help them continue to be there when they’re needed most.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and for supporting me and this incredible cause.
This run is for you, Mum, always by my side and never forgotten.
