Story
This year, I’m taking on one of the toughest challenges of my life: the Vasaloppet (Öppet Spår) – a 90km cross‑country ski race through the forests and frozen lakes of Sweden. It’s a legendary route, and for me, it’s far more than just a physical challenge.
I’m raising money for Mind in Brighton & Hove, a charity whose work means a great deal to me personally.
Like many others, I’ve faced my own struggles with mental health in the past. I know how overwhelming and isolating it can feel, and I also know how transformative the right support can be. Mind in Brighton & Hove provides that support every day — helping people in our community find understanding, guidance, and hope.
And for anyone who’s seen me roller skiing through the streets of Brighton (and wondered what on earth I was doing), this is the reason! Every odd look, raised eyebrow, and amused cyclist I’ve passed has been part of my training for this challenge.
A 90km ski race is tough, but it’s nothing compared to the battles many people face in silence. That’s why I’m doing this: to raise awareness, to spark conversations, and to help ensure Mind can continue offering vital support to anyone who needs it.
If you’re able to donate — whether it’s a little or a lot — it will make a real difference.
Thank you so much for your support, encouragement, and generosity. It genuinely means the world.
Let’s make every kilometre count.....
