Story

I'm running a marathon at the SoBo Series Volume 3 Good Vibrations running event on the 17th May 2026. I will be raising money for the Helpful Hounds Assistance Dogs charity that my mum works for as I've heard about all the life-changing effects these dogs can truly have.

Helpful Hounds are a mental health charity that helps with the growing demand of, mainly young people, who have a range of conditions who, with their family, benefit greatly from having the support of an Assistance Dog.

Helpful Hounds' main objective is to help individuals achieve their maximum potential whether it is through education, work or socially.

Helpful Hounds' Assistance Dogs work with individuals with Autism, Down's Syndrome, PTSD, Anxiety and other cognitive and mental health challenges, as well as individuals with physical disabilities. Additionally, they also train Medical Detection Dogs for conditions such as epilepsy, seizures, POTS and diabetes. These assistance dogs enable people to be far more independent than they would otherwise be, helping to massively improve their overall quality of life.

Helpful Hounds also train community dogs to visit care homes and brighten people's days. They also train school dogs to help support pupils who find school challenging.
