Help us respond to disasters in the UK and around the world, from armed conflict to climate emergencies and natural disasters.

Story

In late November, Steve Milner, Nigel Foster, Tristan Emptage and myself will be taking part in the annual ARC Atlantic yacht race on Steve’s trusty 48ft Wauquiez sail boat. For at least 3 weeks, we - along with around 150 other boats - will sail over 3000 miles non-stop from Gran Canaria to St Lucia; enduring big seas, squalls, sea-sickness, insomnia and (worst of all) sobriety along the way.

As this is not an insignificant endeavour, of a kind that I for one am unlikely to repeat, I’m taking to opportunity to use it as a fundraiser for the British Red Cross, whose work to alleviate the unimaginable (man-made) suffering in Gaza, Ukraine, Sudan and elsewhere is so vitally needed.

Please therefore help us raise some funds to help the BRC continue to be a force for good in an all too bleak world.
