The London Marathon is London's most popular sporting event with over 40,000 people taking part.

Story

In 2015 my sister, Emily, died suddenly and unexpectedly. Despite being a fit and healthy 23 year old, Emily had an undiagnosed heart condition. Every week in the UK at least 12 young people die of undiagnosed heart conditions.

In 2025, to mark this 10 year milestone, I will be running the London Marathon in memory and celebration of Emily and to raise funds for Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY).

Using donations, CRY works to reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death by funding world-leading medical research and provide heart screening to identify potentially fatal cardiac conditions.

CRY also offer bereavement support to affected families and were an invaluable source of support for my family back in 2015 as we attempted to process our devastating loss.

Emily was a kind, fun and adventurous person who loved to travel and was living her dream working as British Airways cabin crew when she died.

If you would be so kind as to support me and this great charity, I would really appreciate it. No donation is too big or too small - everything helps!

Thank you!

Rob
