I hadn’t planned to run a marathon for a good while yet. An ultramarathon in 2021 took an awful lot out of me physically and mentally, and I fell out of love with running longer distances.

Then Naomi spotted that Molly Olly’s Wishes had places to run Manchester and suggested I sign up. This was entirely unexpected (Nay has been the ‘marathon widow’ enough times to know what comes with the training), but she has the knack of knowing the right thing to do long before I’ve worked it out, so I wasn’t going to argue…

She was right. Molly Olly’s Wishes is an incredible local charity and the chance to run for them has given me the purpose to do the long runs once more.

Molly Olly’s has played a role in the lives of people we know personally, people we know of in our community, and those at our children’s schools. At the time when families need support the most in some of the hardest to imagine circumstances, Molly Olly’s seems to be there every single time to offer a ray of light on the darkest of days.
