Story
Hi there,
I’ll cut to the chase: I’m running the London Marathon, and I need your support to make it to the finish line—and to raise funds for a charity who's cause means the world to me and my family.
Here’s the story:
Eight months ago, I had this great idea to raise money for an amazing cause. Unfortunately, I didn’t get a spot in the marathon, so I let it go and focused on life’s other joys (like wondering when the next exclusive Brewdog beer would drop). Fast forward, and the charity reached out with a spot for me—cue equal parts excitement and sheer panic!
Why am I running?
Two years ago, my wife Sarah and I were excitedly expecting a sibling for our daughter Luna. But at our 12-week scan, we received the heartbreaking news that there was no heartbeat. That day changed our lives forever.
The pain of that loss is indescribable. Sarah endured both physical and emotional challenges, and I struggled mentally. What helped us get through was the love and support of our friends, family, and each other.
A year later, we found ourselves nervously expecting again. In July 2024, we welcomed our rainbow baby, Charlie—a little bundle of smiles and joy (despite any resemblance to me). Charlie and Luna light up our lives, but I’ll always carry the memory of the baby we never got to meet.
Why I Need Your Support
Now, I’ve signed up to do something I never thought I would: run a full marathon. That’s 26 miles of sweat, tears, and sore legs—all while staying off beer for four months (yes, really).
I’m running to raise money for a fantastic charity that supports families like ours—people who have experienced loss and heartbreak but may not have had the same support we did.
How can you help?
Sponsor me! Any amount, big or small, will make a huge difference.
Spread the word. Share this message and help raise awareness.
Cheer me on. I’ll need all the motivation I can get to replace my Sunday glass of red with a roast with protein shakes.
Every step, run, ice bath I take in this marathon is for the families who haven’t been as fortunate as we were.
Thank you for reading, for donating, and for supporting this cause. If you’d like more information about the charity or want to see my (very sweaty) marathon costume/training progress, just ask—I’m happy to share!
Here's to getting over the finish line.
Thank you
Bobbi
