Story

Continuing my '6 in my 60's' this is the third of 6 fitness related events planned for 2024.

Following on from my Arctic Expedition I'm now racing Dragons...

boats that is.

On Thursday 18th July at Surrey Quays Docks Fitness & Water Sports Centre

The dragon boat races are run over a distance of 200 metres, requiring the paddlers and drummer in each team to all work together. Personal fitness over this distance is not important as teamwork, paddle timing and a determination to be the best team.

The races are electronically timed down to the hundredths of a second, with each result then posted on the event score board. It’s at this point teams usually find how close their timings really are!

Thank you for any donation you can make, every penny is appreciated and goes to a good cause.

Watch out for my next event - The 20k London Life Hike on 8th September 2024
