Rob's Half Marathon PB and Abseil for the MS Trust.

London Landmarks Half Marathon 2025 · 6 April 2025 ·
Ten years ago I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.
I count myself lucky.
To date, I have only ever had two serious attacks. In 2003 I experienced pain and discomfort in my legs, causing me difficulty in walking and in 2012 I experienced partial loss of sight in my right eye. I recovered fully from the first attack, but I am still affected by the second.
But it could be a lot worse.
MS is a disease with no known cause and no known cure. It is unpredictable, can attack at any time and can cause a wide range of symptoms affecting any part of the body. From mobility problems and chronic pain, to fatigue and vision problems. There is no telling who, when, what, if and how bad with MS.
Fortunately for me, with the long period of time between my attacks, the many years since the last and the relative mild nature of them, the outlook is optimistic.
But that could change in the future and if I can do something to help those more seriously affected by MS now, then I'd like to do what I can. I'd be extremely grateful if you could make a donation to this worthwhile cause, no matter how small.
The challenges:
I've ran a few half marathons since my first in 2016, with times ranging from over 2 hours to my best of 1 hour 53 minutes.
For this event, I'm going to attempt to break the 1:50 mark
I've been to the top before, but I took the conventional route down. This time I'll be abseiling off the roof and down the outside of the stadium.
