Story
The Orthodox Church of the Nativity of the Mother of God, Bristol, was founded in 1948 by refugees from Poland and Ukraine. Its current building on University Road was built for the Catholic Apostolic Church in 1888, becoming an Orthodox parish church in 1968. It is a unusual example of work by the architect Henry Rising, better known for public houses in London, with painted glass by respected 19th century artists. After a round of repairs by experts using traditional materials, our building fund is in a sorry state! Please give what you can to help us conserve and restore our historic building for the future.
