In July 2026, we lost our wonderful Dad to suicide.

There are no words to properly describe the heartbreak of losing someone you love in this way. Like so many families affected by suicide, we have been left with grief, unanswered questions and the painful reality of knowing that someone we loved so deeply was struggling in a way we couldn’t see.

We want to raise money to have a Legend on the Bench - Suicide Prevention bench installed, hopefully, in the Colehill/Wimborne area and if possible in Anglesey too, in memory of our Dad.

Legend on the Bench works with local communities to install benches that provide a place to stop, sit and reflect, while also giving people in crisis immediate access to support. The benches display crisis-support information and QR codes linking directly to services where someone can speak to a real person, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

We want our Dad’s bench to be more than a memorial.

We want it to be a reminder that someone is always listening.

A place where someone who is struggling can sit for a moment. A place for someone struggling to sit and reach out for help, a place for someone to pause and gather their thoughts, and a place for those who have lost someone to sit, remember and feel close to the person they miss.

Our Dad was loved enormously. He was a Dad, a Taid, a Husband, a Brother and a friend. His loss has left a huge hole in the lives of everyone who knew him.

We hope that by creating this bench in his memory, something good can come from our loss and that his memory might help someone else choose to stay.
