Story
Last year my world was turned upside down by the diagnosis of a brain tumour the size of a satsuma. Thankfully due to the wonderful work of the NHS the tumour has been removed successfully and I'm well along the road to recovery.
I'm trying to get fitter so have set myself a challenge which I'm completing with crew mates from Bristol Gig Club. In September we are going to attempt to row from Glen Coe on the West cost of Scotland right across the Highlands via the Great Glen, along the Caledonian Canal to Inverness on the East Coast.
From Glen Coe on Loch Leven to Inverness on the Moray Firth will see us rowing nearly 100 miles. We will be completing the journey over a number of days, and will be updating you on progress as we go.
Such an adventure needs a purpose, so we are going to be raising money for the Brain Tumour Support charity, who do fantastic work assisting those living with a diagnosis, helping them with their symptoms, and supporting their loved ones through the most challenging of times.

The charity have been amazing with the assistance I have received, but I know how lucky I have been because my tumour was benign and it was treatable. I have really benefitted from the counselling that they provided, which has enabled me to maintain a positive outlook. Others are not so lucky with their diagnosis, and any amount of time on the neurosurgical ward makes you acutely aware of the massive life changing problems that so many people are having to face.
Please give generously to help the charity assist those in need? Every penny will help Brain Tumour Support to do their vital work. Thanks.
