Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In April 2024, thanks to your incredible generosity, I completed the London Marathon in memory of my dear friend Charlie Manning, raising over £10,000 for Hospice UK.
When I brought home my medal last time, I promised my daughters I’d take on 26.2 miles one more time so they’d each have one of their own. So, in April 2027, I’m back on the streets of London keeping that promise!
To launch this effort, my wonderful wife, Venetia, is doing something huge to get the fundraising going: she’s shaving her head!
We’re turning it into a big event, and her hair will be donated to be made into a wig for someone who needs it. It's a massive, generous statement to kick off our campaign, and honestly, I'm just hoping she doesn’t decide she wants a marathon medal of her own in 2028!!
While the girls get their medals and Venetia leads the charge with her hair sacrifice, our core motivation remains rooted in honouring all those who go through cancer and supporting the vital work of Hospice UK. The care, dignity, and compassion provided by end-of-life hospices make an unfathomable difference to families facing their darkest days. Hospices work tirelessly to support patients and their loved ones, and we want to help ensure that care is always available.
As an overweight farmer who isn’t built to run marathons, lacing up my running shoes again won’t be easy - but I am determined to nail this for my family, my friends, and to provide funding for the most worthy cause, which I pray none of my loved ones ever need again.
Please join us in supporting Venetia’s brave shave and my 26.2-mile trek. Whether you can donate or simply share our page, we would be deeply grateful.
Thank you for your support!
