24 Hour National Three Peaks Challenge · 20 May 2023

Barking Mad Dog Rescue is a UK based charity set up to provide food, veterinary support and care for abandoned dogs in Romania before finding them suitable homes. With several hundred dogs to feed on a daily basis and dogs needing veterinary attention, fundraising is ongoing and essential.

Story

I’m going to attempt the National Three Peaks Challenge on 20th May 2023 - climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon, the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales in 24 hours - to support Barking Mad Dog Rescue, a small UK charity which works to improve the lives of abandoned dogs in Romania.

Barking Mad Dog Rescue works with hands on teams at shelters in Constanta and Calarasi, where they care for around 500 dogs and puppies, many of whom have been rescued from unimaginable abuse and neglect.

In BMDR’s shelters, the dogs find safe haven from some of the most unimaginable abuse. BMDR also has a dedicated UK team of volunteers who facilitate adoptions.

My challenge begins at 8am on 20th May, with the aim of completion by 8am on 21st May. Total ascent is 10,052ft over 23 miles.

Thanks for reading this, and I hope you can donate to help this great charity in their vital, life saving work.
