Thank you for visiting my page!
April 2025 marks 10 years since my mum Valeria died of sarcoma. My mum was an incredible woman - extremely intelligent, hard working and fun to be around. I think about her every single day and I miss all our conversations- be it about the latest fashion trends or the universe. I wish she could have seen the fruits of all her hard work parenting and been there for all my adult life milestones.
My mum was a researcher (physics degree and bioinformatician!) and I promised her I would work hard to help people with cancer. I am hoping to do that via research and my work as a doctor. However, I am really conscious that sarcoma research needs more funding and attention.
Sarcoma is a type of cancer that develops in the bone and soft tissue. It is difficult to diagnose and one of the hardest to treat. There are 100s of different types of sarcomas and they often affect young people. I know from my mum’s experience that having a rare cancer adds further stress and loneliness to the already difficult time of being diagnosed with cancer.
With you supporting me, we can help change this. Your donation will help researchers find answers, keep the Sarcoma UK Support Line open, and raise awareness to improve treatment and standards of care.
Thank you for your support.
