Walk4Joseph Wrexham 2025 · 11 April 2025

Joseph Michael Kendrick is 15 years old and has Non-Ketotic Hyperglycinemia, a rare genetic disorder that affects one in 60,000 new-borns. The condition is so serious that less than 500 people in the world are living with it. Joseph’s Goal has been set up to raise funds and awareness into NKH.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

It is time for the annual walk in aid of Joseph's Goal and this year it seems we are walking from a different country. We are walking from Wrexham to Wigan over two days, including a blister inducing 29.5 miles on the first day. The lovely people in charge of football have also ensured that we will get as little sleep as possible by moving the kick off of the Wigan to Wrexham game from 3pm to 12.30pm which will mean a 5am start the day after, erm another 5am start.

As ever, around 40 hardy souls will put themselves through this punishment to raise critical funds for NKH to give other children like Joseph a chance of life. These walks combined have raised over £150,000 over the years and, as ever we are all eternally grateful for every penny you could spare to send our way. There will be laughs and grimaces, plenty of food and drink, some sore feet, not much sleep, weather - who knows? and endless miles of walking but it is always 100% worth it.
